Our Milwaukee Favorites

Let’s get lunch: Our top three favorite places to grab a quick bite, coffee or cocktail.

While Milwaukee is well-known for its multiple breweries and abundance of cheese curds and dairy products, there are so many types of cuisine to indulge in. Savvie HQ is located in the heart of the Historic Third Ward, a foodie’s paradise – and, thankfully, we’re surrounded by a number of other iconic, vibrant culinary neighborhoods: Walker’s Point, the East Side, Brewer’s Hill, Downtown … just to name a few.

Here are some of our team’s favorite places to eat and drink in the 414:

La Casa de Alberto

Fact: Tacos are always a good idea. Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants in Brew City, La Casa de Alberto is often considered a hidden gem of National Avenue in Walker’s Point. With its authentic menu of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, (complimentary) chips and salsa and, of course, margaritas, it’s no wonder this taqueria is hardly ever empty.

Valentine Coffee

Ah, coffee – the nectar of the workplace gods and the fuel that gets us motivated in the morning. Valentine is a beloved coffee shop that’s just a block from our office. The welcoming, cozy café offers plenty of sip options for us caffeine enthusiasts, including various roasts from around the world, lattes, cappuccinos, tea and more.

Press Waffles

If we’re in the mood for some quick, hearty, incredibly delicious sandwiches, our go-to is Press. The business that started as a farmers market food truck also has a brick-and-mortar café in the Third Ward. Aside from their sweet and savory Belgian Liège waffles, their French baguette sandwiches are *chef’s kiss.* (We looove the Bacon + Brie and the Croque Monsieur.)
